Analie’s phone suddenly started to ring, and then it went to speaker mode, “Hello? Ana?
“Hey, Torrent.” Copeland answered, “What’s going on?”
“I was able to sense that guy, and your brother, Cope.” Torrent said, “I’d been trying since I woke up, and it seems Marshal is still in the city.”
“Can I go with you girls?” Copeland asked, and lets out a cough where blood flies loose
“Copeland, are you sure?” Torrent said, “You sound like you’re worse already.
“It’s how this disease works, I think.” Copeland said, “The less I hurt people the closer I get to dying.”
“So it’s bad either way for you.” Torrent said, “And you’re still wanting to go?”
“Yes, I got them into this, and I need to fix this.” Copeland said, “No matter what.” She paused herself for a moment and looked to Analie, “With… our standards of course.” That got her coughing hard again. “Dang, even talking about it does something, I thought I was gonna cough up a lung.”
“Um… either way, let’s hurry before they move him again.” Torrent says over the phone, “And this time, let’s wait on the plan, please?”
Out on the streets the girls met, one by one, just around the corner from a condemned building. Circuit stood by Tiger Eyes, surveying the building, while Angel and Copeland were getting ready in their own right for what was gonna happen.
“The building is pretty big.” Angel said, “You think they’d have gone a few floors up?”
“Absolutely.” Tiger eyes said, looking as if she were spaced out. “They are on the fifth floor, which takes some time to reach, while also making it hard to escape.”
“They must be relying on that shadow guy again.” Copeland said,
“Definitely, the edgy guys have most of the lights out. And they still wear dark clothes.”
“Any idea how to handle him?”
“Yeah, well, Circuit brought it up.” Angel started to pull out some electric lanterns. “That guy only seems to disappear in darkness. We make the area around him too bright, and he may not be able to teleport.”
“And what about the shadow under his feet?” Copeland asked, “These could cast a shadow too.”
“Hope the shadows aren’t dark enough,” Circuit gestured them to come over, “And make sure he can’t run.”
“Or we could throw one at his feet.” Tiger Eyes said, coming back to reality, “Let’s move, they were taking Marshal somewhere.”and then started walking along the alleys.
