very cool $5 wood box from goodwill. i brought it home and used it to practice with some materials for the first time =^-^=
main section is thumbtack fasteners painted with nailpolish (CND vinylux brand, dark violet color with sprinkled crushed silverleaf), pinning a cut strip of paint pour canvas (freya's work), and showcasing a chunk of glass from Layf's glass factory. abalone hung from catenary twine, little wood foxxo from a book shop and my old incense burner 'cause i liked the brass next to the yellow splash in freya's paint pour =^-^=
top is dried rose petals from the backyard rose garden (Ebon Tide roses) sprinkled with fine silver powder (crushed from silverleaf with a dry brush) secured by PVA to the wood then topped with a matte acrylic spray to hold it all together
and around the border little sharpied leopard rosettes πone of the only shapes i can make so far πΎπ
a lot of fun! Likely the first and last piece that freya/layf/I will do as a triad. and all 'cause of this cool box from goodwill with such an interesting story behind it! (too long to include in this post) feels like an honor to be able to add more story to the box. wonder if i can hand it back off to goodwill without it getting destroyed
dont really like how the silver leaf turned out, but learning how to "powder" it with a dry brush was very useful. Learned a lot about adhesives here :3 don't like the random middle fastener, should have done more with it or left it out. lots to learn here still!
