Just because their daughters can't get along doesn't mean they can't. Mercury and Blitzo, a happily married Imp and Mink, enjoy some quality cuddle time together. Aren't you lucky? This one even comes with a lil story.
Night had fallen in Hell. Blitzo was wrapping up some final stuff at the IMP offices. Everyone else had gone home and the bossman wasn't far behind. Meanwhile, at his apartment, his wife lay on the couch, watching TV. Their daughters, having finished their nightly bickering, had finally turned in. Loona still wasn't keen on sharing a room with Minerva, let alone her room, but she put up less of a fight tonight.
Finally, Blitzo returned home. He stopped to changed out of his fancy suit and into his pajamas. He sat on the couch next to his wife and let out a heavy sigh.
"Rough day, sweetie?" She asked him.
"Yeah, rough day." Blitzo responded.
"Wanna talk about it?" Mercury asked. "You seem so tense."
"Yeah...I guess." Blitzo looked to his wife. "I just wanna snuggle into you so bad right now." He admitted.
"Well, sweetie, what's keeping you?" She asked, smirking. Wasting little time, the imp crawled onto his wife, laying his head on her breasts. Immediately, Mercury could feel her husband begin to relax as he cuddled into her soft fur.
"Oh, you handsome thing." Mercury cooed, rubbing his horn and the spot where an ear would normally be with her hands.
"My lovely wife." Blitzo said, hugging the mink. "Oh, my god, I needed this so bad."
"Being the boss is so hard." Said Mercury. "You're doing your best, sweetie. You're a good boss, a good father, Blitzo." Mercury continued to whisper sweet things to her husband. Blitzo's pulse began to relax, his breathing slowed, and he finally pulled himself up to Mercury's face and planted a kiss on her lips.
"How did I get so lucky to have you?" He asked her.
"You didn't shoot me, that's how." Mercury joked. It turned out to be a mistake, as Blitzo looked away, his expression saddening.
"I'm...I'm sorry I-"
"Now don't start that." said Mercury. "A job is a job, you were doing yours. And while we still haven't figured out who put that job on you, I don't care. It led me to you. It's allowed me to reconnect with my daughter and see life as more than just a slog and a constant reminder of how I failed. Blitzo, sweetie, you saved my life. If you hadn't been hired to plant a bullet in my brain, I might have." The two remained silent, long into the night, simply cuddling and enjoying each other's company.
