Greener pastures, it's what we aspire for them.
A chestnut beauty, gliding effortlessly over the taller grasses and rolling hills. Entrancing was he, to be so careless and free as he roamed to his heart's leisure. But he was never alone. Beside him was his brother and for nearly two decades they stood side by side tirelessly. Each of them stubborn, but with good natures about them. He was up before the breaking dawn, and standing tall past the twilight of each evening. A free spirit, with a kind demeanor, and I loved him dearly. He lived a long life, one proud and happy. Never concerned, but there was always much past those deep eyes.
I grew up being taught that animals never carried spirits, that we as humans were always different in that manner. And even as a child I always found that unbelievable. How could one such as him, with such a tender personality, and equally as observant, be lacking in what we find to be a soul? Of course there is to consider the differentiation in levels of intelligence, perhaps even sentience, but as he lived he gave more spirit than many I have come to know well. To many he was just a horse, but to me he was a brother. My only regret was that I could not be beside him in his final hours. But I hope that beyond this world, past this life, that those greener pastures are fresh plains he gets to frolic upon much the same as he did in this life. I love you, T. And you will always be a part of me.
Rest in piece, brother. Until we meet again...
Tronas was an American Quarter horse that I grew up alongside. He was gentle, and smart, grumpy when it came time to eat, but who isn't every now and then? It's never easy to accept losses when they come, we all have a time, that is when we expire. But all we can hope for is that we gave them the best life that we could. And I can thankfully say that he was looked after well. That he got to live a carefree life with all the love we as a family could give to him.
This beautiful portrait was done by Tupi-Art. Thank you so much for the beautiful piece, it's something I'll continue to hold dear for years to come.
And thank you all for stopping by to read this little memorial I put up. I know it's a little different from my usual posts, but he was my family too. And so I'll miss him. All living creatures possess a spirit in my own personal view. They, much like us, are creatures of our land. And so we must honor them the same. I say again, thank you. And have a wonderful day, love you guys.
