The decedent was originally interred in Worcester Common Burial Ground. His remains were moved to Hope Cemetery in 1969 where the stone was laid flat. The stones were erected again in 2024.

That's precisely why I journeyed there this past September. When I was there in '22 to see the old section transplanted from another yard, this hadn't happened yet. Imagine my surprise when I found out a year later that they'd begun excavations. Now there's about 2 dozen stones set up and they've held onto some extra fragments just in case.
