This pic is from 2003. I don't know why it's not on my FA gallery, as it is on my VCL account. I ran across it while looking through my archives for color references for a commission pic I had started flatshading today. When I glanced through my FA gallery, I didn't see it, so here it is today, not quite old enough to look out of place next to my recent work, but old enough to remind my watchers that this pic is two years older than FA itself. If it had been uploaded in proper order with my earlier submissions, it would have slotted in around Impure Thoughts or New Kicks. For display here I relocated one of the attributions and added my logo in the corner (if you look up this image on VCL you'll see the changes).
The pic itself is obviously a play on the meaning of "pin-up". At the time, Tanya, shown trying to yank the push-pin out of the piece of paper she and Tina are drawn on, was...shall we say "reluctant" to be exposed to the Internet, possibly as a result of finding out what Rule 34 is (and how it's often not under the artist's control). You would get a better idea of her mindset at the time by reading the early arc of "What, me Furry?", a comic that I started long ago to introduce my own characters to the fandom (as they're written to be aware of their existence as cartoon characters). Nowadays, she'd probably be all too happy to do pinups, provided they're not of the x-rated variety. It would be a welcome change from the awkward situations she's been finding herself in recently.
Also, I believe this is the only pic of my characters depicting any of them using their claws for climbing.
Brush-inked pencils colored in Micrografx Picture Publisher 8.
(no idea what the full-size image might've been--it was either lost, or never archived after the reduced-size version was generated)
