He would probably have tried to simply kill her with his lethal attacks by now but could already tell it wouldn't be that simple against her and just not worth the effort, even a lot less so than with Emerald earlier. "Why kill me though?", she wonders. Laser looks like it'd just make him seem even less redeemable, almost as if simply to make a point."
"Oh..", Liara responds, "You'd kill someone who isn't an enemy to you? Let alone understands your cause?" It seems like he convinced himself he wouldn't ever be anything else than the villain he was always expected to be, so he can't really understand her kindness towards him at all and simply doesn't have any response to it, making him default to how he always behaves, with the actions and intentions he is used to. But again, she isn't being judgemental about it: "Don't worry, it's okay. I understand. It's not your fault." Laser awkwardly sits down, with the Rockruff joining him, "By the way, you look really cool." He knows. Then she smiles and becomes her pure energy state, all firey. Laser is looking at her like, are you trying to imitate me? "What? No!"
The villain seems to think she is weird for just casually hanging out with him, since she is definitely in the minority with behaving like this around a Team Infamy member. "I see you aren't used to this, huh?" But he doesn't want to answer that to not appear too approachable, given the unfamiliarity of this situation. "I'll take that as a yes." Laser then just looks away out of avoidance. "Aww. Don't worry, you'll be fine." He'd probably stick his tongue out at her if he had a tongue... or mouth for that matter. "Why are you looking at me like that-" So he now awkwardly punches her shoulder, trying to hold onto how he is usually perceived. "Ow. Yeah, I get that, but why let the majority decide it for ya?", Liara wants to know, though Laser thinks that's the only path he has. That makes the Rockruff then ask the red Laserchu: "Have you ever considered other options? Because they're definitely there."

Laser thinks for a bit, then using his extremely high speed to effectively paint entire scenes with light in order to show Liara how he was only created to be experimented on, making the first months of his life consist of nothing but fear and full on torture, and when finally getting a chance to escape, and killing everyone in that facility in the process, the space warrior organization captured him. Trying to keep him well treated but nonetheless locked away with extremely high security measures as that organization wanted to make sure he and three others weren't a threat before letting them roam free. Those other three were Bloody Mary, B1nary and Exo, the other members of Team Infamy. They eventually managed to escape and understanding how even the most well meaning good guys seem to assume the worst of them, there was simply no point in trying to be good, and after all the torture the four of them had to go through, punishing the universe for it, making everyone know the pain they were way too familiar with, felt like the only way to feel better about it all, though the trauma would never truly go away. He doesn't even "mention" Ray, just wanting to forget about him entirely at this point.
Liara says in response to seeing all that: "There's always a choice.. but none of this is fair.. I can agree. But.. is the entire universe deserving of this?" Laser is thinking that he and his friends didn't deserve the pain and trauma either, therefore treating the universe as unfairly as it has been to them feels fair to them. "But shouldn't you treat the ones who wronged you unfairly rather than the entire universe I mean.. theres a trillions of people out there, why assume everyone would treat you the same? I sure don't. Sure, I'm just one person, but it proves that there's a possibility. I would honestly do your team justice by giving the truth throughout many galaxies, because you all do deserve better. I would do that, you know?" This interaction is definitely going the exact opposite way as the one with Emerald did. And the red Laserchu is now looking like he feels that it wouldn't be fair for only them to have such a horrific start into life, that's why everyone else should know suffering too, so that everyone can feel how they feel. But Liara replies to this: "We all suffer in our own ways. Not everyone out there is happy.. and what if there's someone who went through experiences similar to yours?" He is thinking that everyone should experience that hopelessness and desperation. Clearly, what he and the others went through really impacted their way of thinking to genuinely think this is how to make things fair.
Liara then tells him: "The only way you break free of hopelessness is fighting for what you want. You don't want to be a monster, right? You want to be free of this pain. Then find a way to fight for it." But Laser is convinced that most people wouldn't listen anyway. Look like a monster, be as dangerous as one, and most people will assume the worst. "I know how you feel.", the Rockruff can actually relate, "I was called and treated like a lot of things that hurt me too. Not everyone agrees with what I am, some believe my power should be restricted. That I shouldn't have the freedom to help others, and do what I do. Some even took measures to kill me. And sure I swayed the opinion of billions. But there's always people who will judge. And it all stems from fear. It's tough to deal with such things." The Team Infamy member is wondering why she didn't just embrace how others treated her, what the point is of trying to be anything else than what's already expected of one.
"Yes, I could have hurt them back.. I could set everything ablaze and god I wish I could.. and you probably think I should. But that'd really be too easy, to take that path just because people did terrible things, tried ruining my name, my very ideals in what I stood for. But I had to be strong, because there were still people struggling, even from similar forces who were hurting me. Yeah, I was quite broken for a while. But... I had to filter out those events. I was better than them. They called me many things... and if that doesn't change, it's okay.. even after saving them too. You just have to be strong, fight past all the pain. Finding peace in yourself isn't easy especially after what you've gone through. But the only way you can is if you push towards that. Take it from me. The universe has taken a lot from me.. but things happen. We need to be the ones to decide on moving on."
Laser is struggling to understand how she can find so much value in being good that she'd go against what people think of her. "It's because I'm at a point where all of it is just useless noise. There's no need to acknowledge it, pay it any attention. I simply don't care anymore. I will continue to do what I do. And be who I want to be. Sometimes you really can't let things take you down, no matter how severe. You'll get it one day." She smiles at him assuringly, though the Laserchu remains confused. Seems like undeserved kindness just doesn't make sense to him, both in regards to how Liara is treating him right now and in regards to how Liara chooses to be good despite the evident opposition from some others.
"You'll only further become what people assume you are if you keep doing it.", the Rockruff explains, "And honestly, it'll just boost their egos about it too. It can lead to some pretty nasty results for you. I rather prove someone wrong and I rather be resilient. It'll make them even more foolish about their claims. And it will lead them to do something stupid in their lives, sometimes even worse than simply resorting to hurting them yourself. All of this will make sense one day. For now, if you choose, you can consider me an ally. I have no reason to stand in your way. You're all just misunderstood.. Any conflict would ultimately make things worse. And that isn't a chance I'd want to take, where there's better options for you, whenever you may find them."
He is definitely looking surprised about Liara calling herself an ally and questioning her being able to put aside the amount of harm Team Infamy has already caused, even just through releasing Cronus alone, making them indirectly responsible for the death of billions including Arceus and the destruction of Heaven. And yet, despite how easy it should be to hate this team of villains for such things, Laser can see Liara showing support for them as actual people. "No...", she says, "If people had treated you better and attempted to aid you, this outcome would have never come to be. In a sense. It's more so their faults. If you think about it, a lot of what happened could have been easily avoided.. All that was needed was one moment... one moment to take that time to help you. And they didn't, thus, the destruction of Heaven. I don't blame your team for this. Because there were so many things others could have done differently. I will not make that same mistake."
Now Laser is wondering why they should even consider giving up having so much more control over their lives and their perception as villains, now not just from their looks and danger but also their involvement in horrible occurences, even if Liara doesn't blame them for it, knowing most people still would.
"Yeah, I can put everything aside because there's deeper parts to this. You aren't evil, you didn't choose to be this way on purpose. You did so because people wrongfully judged you. And now look, they made you do these things. As I said.. one moment of care could have fixed all of this. What you did wasn't right, yeah, but I believe it also had to happen. It's a result of poor judgment and management. I've heard of the space warriors before, they're full of shit for locking you up. You'd think they'd be the ones to actually study deeper into your origins and give you aid, they just assumed the same. Not very warrior-like at all if you ask me. But yes in some ways, I agree with you. People did deserve what came to them from you all, they didn't help you. They only assumed the worst. That's kind of a form of discrimination. And I really don't stand for those things. If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask. I'll support you. I believe there's still a chance for you guys. But I think it's best we clear up the lies and misinformation about you. The truth needs to get out somehow."
Laser is now looking down a bit, starting to feel a bit conflicted about how he should feel. So the Rockruff by his side places a handpaw on him, "Take time to think on it. I know it's a lot to take in." The Pikachu twitches a bit from not expecting any kind of gentle touch but ultimately quietly letting her while thinking. "You're lucky I can touch you, otherwise theres a good chance my hand would have fallen off.", she jokes with a giggle, after which she stays by him, letting him think, not rushing him, but giving him all the time needed while remaining close. Laser nods to that jokeful remark, people definitely don't tend to leave with all their body parts intact after coming into physical contact with him. The other Team Infamy members excluded, as they also have near-invulnerability.
"It's a good thing I'm nearly invulnerable too.", Liara says while smiling, "Granted, doesn't stop someone from knocking me silly here and there. I remember a Zangoose I faced being able to bypass that side of me with those claws of hers. That aside.. I'd like to meet the rest of your team." But Laser isn't sure if that's a good idea, since they're much less willing to listen to a "good guy" person. Liara understands. So now the two of them are just sitting there, with Laser eventually deciding with hesitation to give Liara a very brief hug, something she lovingly returns. He then gives her a semi-serious look like if you tell anyone I hugged you I'll kill you. "Lips sealed." The Laserchu gives a thumbs up to that.
"I'm good with secrets. Don't worry." The Team Infamy member wants to joke that he's good at secrets too, since he literally doesn't have a mouth. "Oh I know.", she teases, making him question if she is attempting to tease him. The canine answers that truthfully: "Only a little.", so in response to that, Laser rolls his eyes...... somehow, despite a lack of pupils.
After this, Laser gets up, seemingly ready to leave. "We'll catch up sometime, okay?" He shrugs to that, though in actuality he certainly didn't mind not being treated as a monster for once. "Good. I'll cya around!" So then Laser waves before leaving at light speed as the Rockruff waves too before also flying off into space.
