Beatrix had a sort of non-canonical adventure in this one-shot by Shanda Fantasy Press. Valiant Varmints was meant as a spoof of and a tribute to the old DC Justice League comics. The contributors were meant to write and draw their own chapters of the story arc, but had to conform to an overall script, and include certain clues. I was thrilled to be asked to join the team-up. I was a little less thrilled that for the framing pages, somebody else would be drawing Bea. But whatta y'gonna do?

There was some talk of a follow-up, but nothing has come of it.

The cover art for the book was done by Mike Sagara, the artist behind "Hey, Neeters" and "Little Oz Squad".
