This is the very last page of Beatrix ever published. As you can see, it promised more issues, but alas they never appeared. The fault is mine. I had a publisher and a sort of a deal. It was not so very good a deal, and a lot was expected of me... and that's probably why I never made a start. But I do have notes. Lots of notes for new stories, and even an end to the series I intended to bring Bea to, eventually. (Say in four or five issues.) But it doesn't seem like that's ever to be.

If somebody was really serious enough to offer me, let's say, $100 a finished page, I would probably take it very serious. It always annoyed me that furry publishers were willing to risk thousands of dollars on printers, fees to Diamond for distribution, but when it came to the actual creative process, they weren't willing to risk anything. Putting another 10% into the budget would probably make a world of difference to the artists & writers.
But the issue is really more complicated than that, and requires a complete break down of expenses and practises to discuss properly.

You know, if you look at how Jay Naylor works things on his website, you could turn a nice profit on a webcomic like this. Do a PG-13 webcomic that draws lots of readers then sell porn involving the characters. Then again, Bea not being able to have sex would make that a real challenge but what the heck. :P
