General Jianfeng took a seat just off the stone pathway with a small paper tray filled with skewers. The day's festival was in full swing now, and he needed a quiet break form the crowd. He gently pat the spot beside him as he looked up at Tianshe, who had been following behind him like a lost duckling all morning; The behavior a little amusing to the general, as the man is an old god of thunder.
"Come, sit." He said, tone perfectly even, though a smile tugged at his lips. "Lets see you try something new."
Tianshe watched him curiously as he sat down beside him, tail tip flicking about. Jianfeng held out a skewer, trying not to laugh at the expression on the mans face, looking more like a concerned cat than a snake.
"These... Spheres of root. You consume them for power?"
"...No. Eh, well, energy perhaps. They're fried radish balls, a specialty of the province. We eat them because they're delicious."
Tianshe blinked, clearly uncertain if this were a joke mortals told to amuse themselves. Still, he plucked one radish ball off delicately between two claws, lifting it as though it might detonate.
"It is... Warm." Tianshe observed.
"That's generally the point, yes."
The god sniffed it, eyes narrowing. He seemed to be listening for some deeper truth inside the fried crust, some echo of cosmic meaning mortals apparently found in these snacks. Finding none, he shrugged, and popped the little ball into his mouth.
He froze.
Jianfeng waited.
Nearby festival goers sneaking a peek at them through the bushes held their breath.
Finally, Tianshe's tail thumped once against the ground, bright sparks snapping at it's end.
"It is agreeable," He declared. "Unexpectedly agreeable."
Jianfeng chuckled at him, offering the rest of the skewer. "Would you like another?"
"...All of them."
