Thanks! Honestly I got the joke from an old Simpsons episode.

They don't have a magnifying glass big enough to find Jinjur's heart...

Nor do they have the intel to find who "they" are.

And I believe that NDAs were required.

Dr Robotnik: "Snively, what color is my heart?" Pulls Snively close to his mouth.

Snively: "I don't see a heart sir.."

Dr. Robotnik: "Exactly".

Always been fond when the nice or funny characters express their disdain for someone by listing all of the reasons that they hate her. Koz didn't just try to kill Jinjur because she was a bitch who would have been a horrible wife to Fred. He hates her because, despite being a high-ranking officer, she was willing to commit treason by trying to kill Songween and her latest coup idea brought lions to their doorsteps.
He is also right about Jinjur demanding respect rather than earn it. Since her first appearance, it's clear that Jinjur is disrespected by almost everyone but her soldiers despite outranking them all. Under normal circumstances, Jinjur would be just as respected as she is feared if it weren't for her blatant attempts to remove Songween from power. If you commit treachery and act like a tyrant, then you lose any right to have respect.
Koz also deconstructs Jinjur by pointing out that Songween would have allowed her death a long time ago and she only allowed her to keep trying out of amusement. It shows how out of depth Jinjur was all this time. Despite this, he still intended to kill her out of respect for Fred, Jade, and Murphy because of how Jinjur cruelly antagonized them in the past. It proves how much Koz loves his friends and how he is willing to kill, even disobeying Songween, to protect them.

In an odd way, Koz is showing respect to Jinjur, by wanting her death to be spectacular and worthy of becoming a hyena legend.

And she recognizes that. He doesn't want to kill her "jus Koz," he wants to contribute to her legend by being the guyena who succeeds in taking her out.

It's...kind of touching, in a way...

It is very touching. Perhaps they will make a pact in private at some point when Jinjur has had enough of life. Koz will finally bag her in bed in private and then take her life in a blaze of glory. Only the two of them would know of the night of passion that took place prior to Jinjur's death and Koz would take that knowledge to his grave some years later.

"A gentleman never tells."

"Which means you'll be blabbing it all over the town in about five minutes."

Well, Koz may be honor bound to keep quiet on this occasion.

Koz is deeper than the Marianna Trench. Isn't he? Jinjur is getting a lesson in humility in the only way that she understands.
