My personal HC is that Shamura adopted the other four and raised them. Kallamar was the only one who was actually found by Shamura, the other three all sought them out on purpose to challenge them. Kal was trying to steal to get enough gold to feed his five followers when Shamura caught him and decided to take him in as an ally. (Initially, the plan was just to have Kallamar owe Shamura a debt of gratitude for raising him and ally in future conflicts, but they ended up feeling like siblings rather than mentor and student.)
Regarding the color around Kallamar's mouth, I hc that it's lipstick and he hasn't started wearing it when he's just a wee lil guy
