This is a very simplified map, my artistic ability can't fully display what I imagine the city to be, in actuality it would be sprawling with uncountable roads, trains winding around impossibly tall skyscrapers, ect
Vrunesh, home planet of the Runecs, nearly the whole planet is a city with insanely big structures and tall towers, the city itself has the same name as the planet, streets below and high in the sky, bright city lights, and it's always night, and mostly rainy.
Since there's so little natural plantlife, there are specially engineered vine, glossy violet in color, that is made to thrive in the drainage pipes, and waterways, and to grow in a way that doesn't obstruct them, these plants are very efficient oxygen producers. One may see their leafy protrusions sprouting out from grates on the sidewalk here and there.
In the middle of this city, there's a vast district that spirals down, the roads heading down to the center, being in this deep part of the planet very negatively affects sanity, this is the core.
The core is an intense ball of divine Energy, this is what powers the city, providing infinite and intense power.
Documents, books, and other records show this divine energy-reactor was created from the remains of a dead god, referred to as Illusius, was a deity of greed, spite, and inequity, he was not too different from Dysabene, and likely would have filled Dysabene's current role if he had progressed further.
Illusius discovered the Runec people in their species’ infancy, and took control, he instated material wealth as power, individuality as weakness, the fact that so many Runecs make new Runecs in the same sort of black cat image, was instilled by Illusius as the standard, and there's lingering judgement of different looking Runecs despite destroying the deity long ago, his ideals are still yet to be completely destroyed in the minds of the people.
Illusius was jealous of the other deities who had a whole people linked to them, or just had followers, he took control of the Runecs for one reason, keep progressing, more population, more numbers, take over, become the best, have the best people.
The Runecs grew jaded watching their world die, grass alone was a sparse sight, worship faded and weakened Illusius, but they kept progressing for years, but when one small continent remained, they went to war with the deity to preserve the last of the nature they had [now known as the park]. They won this war, the battle ended with over 2 billion Runecs dead, and a bullet lodged in the dead god's heart.
More powerful deities would come back from this fine, but in his current state, Illusius “died”, in a sense. His corpse remains in the core to generate power, but enough Worshippers could bring him back to life, this is why information on this deity is kept with trusted scholars, because a group of people could theoretically revive the deity, for Illusius to realize himself once more.

I haven't heard of trigun before, I assumed it was a game before I looked it up to be sure lol
Thankie thankie! A lot of the lore about the dead deity sort of came out of nowhere when I was both writing in the doc [something I hope to post soonish] and drawing the map, as its new and sort of messy its still subject to possible change, but over all I'm happy with the concept I thought up and what it adds to their planet.
