In honour of Sonic Rush's 20th Anniversary, I present you a piece of artwork created over the course of 5 long days of sketching, redesigning, posing and rendering.



Blaze the Cat meeting with her original concept design! Known mostly by the fan name of Cinder!



Yeah, did you guys know that Blaze was at first conceptualised as nothing more than practically a Sonic-ified entity of flaming matter? Gotta admit, that's pretty kickass, if you ask me!



So kickass, in fact, that they didn't even bother giving her a muzzle! I bet it's no surprise that she's not much of a speaker, now is it?



Her design almost reminds me of another Sonic character whose primary colours are black and red and also just so happens to share an anniversary with Blaze, what with having their own videogame which also came out on the same day as Sonic Rush and whatnot, but damn, I don't know. I think I made that one up...
