Nefer in Deltarune? A guy can dream.
A YCH I saw that was rather cheap and that was too interesting to ignore, an animated battle and an overworld scene from the great game that is Deltarune. I imagined how Nefer, my smexy cat boy, would look and act in such a setting and I even tried to continue my little baladi/belly dance fiction with the trio by including him. Suffice to say, I am extremely happy with the results.
The artist is called JecksFox. This took time, as most great pieces does, but it was well worth the wait as this entire segment is a whole lot of fun. If you like their work, go check out their auctions on YCH.commishes. https://ych.commishes.com/user/JecksFox/
They also have a Furaffinity page. https://www.furaffinity.net/user/jecksfox/
Now how come the Fun Gang meets Nefer? Read on and find out!

NEW CHALLENGER
Susie had to admit she didn't quite mind a second round.
It had been a bit hectic, a touch random, yet being part of a TV show was pretty fun all in all. The whole baladi part had been unexpected, to be fair, but she figured she did well enough to warrant those extra points. Yet now they had to wait in the Green Room in order for the setup to be done. Big sets, music and all that, she presumed. It was time to relax a bit and she would do it...
If it wasn't for Kris just being unable to stand still for two darn minutes.
“What are you doing, Kris? Just sit down and play with us. Come and help me teach Ralsei how to be angry with cheap and hard games!” the punk in her shared, ever wanting to tease the prince of darkness, an ill-fitting title for a cutie-patootie like him. Nonetheless, Kris was already going on to check out a door that was glowing eerily. It was shaped like an onion dome from those wannabe Middle-Eastern shows and it certainly did not see to belong here, which was probably why Kris was so intent on checking it out. “Just wait there. They're just being adventurous or stupid, maybe both.”
“Oh...okay. I guess I'll go and try to finish this level. I think I'm doing good!” Ralsei said, pressing buttons as he looked at Susie with an attitude that was beaming with a need for approval.
“...it's the tutorial. But sure, you're doing great. Now...gosh darn it, Kris!”
They were already gone, the door open and Kris nowhere to be seen. Susie rushed in as this was certainly not the studio, nor anything remotely connected to it. A long balcony-like structure, complete with stone railways, pillars and long curtains could be seen as a gorgeous sunset stretched upon the horizon. The sand seen at an uncertain distance, as far as the eye could see, seemed almost liquid in its perfection, waves of dunes carrying the echo of twilight as eventually did Susie meet with Kris who seemed to be just standing there...alone.
“Where the HELL are we, Kris?” Susie asked, dumbfounded as this did not correlate with her. After the Baladi performance, maybe Tenna wanted to have like some kind of Arabian Nights drama? An Egyptian-themed show? Yet it did not seem to be the case, the décor not being flashy enough. Kris did not answer, their own stupefaction clearly seen on their oft-expressionless visage.
“Huhuhu, look what we got here~” said a man, for it was definitely masculine though with a slight accent. Looking past Kris could be noticed a feline person wearing a bedlah of sky blue and gold, jewelry on display with his svelte yet curvaceous form certainly easy on the eye. Feminine to a point, he was lounging upon a carpet, one elbow on a cushion as he smoked some hookah, his exhale gravitating around him to pave the way for mystery. “Strangers in my domain...but then again I did leave the door open and after seeing you on television...well I wanted to meet you three. Wait, where's the-”
“Susie, Kris...I finished the first level! Wait...where the HECK are we?” Ralsei said, rushing in as whenever they did find themselves in the Dark World would the goat boy find them somehow. They were still clad in their attire from this half-fantasy, half-nightmare so reality hadn't quite settled in. “Wait, who is he?”
“Nefer, the Lord of Kittens, minor god and I must say I did enjoy watching you three dance...but there's just one tiny problem...” the feline fellow said, his tone growing slightly sinister as he got up from his comfortable position. It proved easier to see his flat stomach, his long hair, his blue fur and tan complexion. Yet despite looking more like a mixture of sexy and harmless, the moment his eyes went on to be seen due to him rising up and the smoke clearing...there was something almost scary in how his eyes seemed to glow and swirl with colors. “And I intend to fix it.”
Everyone from the Fun Gang went on to get ready for a fight, all signs of this conversation pointing to one and yet Nefer did have the initiative, taking a stance which proved familiar to the trio. Weight on the back foot and leg, the other light while standing on toes, this was prepping for a dance, notably baladi as he went on to move one hand behind his head, the other on one hip as he swayed and spun his hips while adjusting his feet and stance.
“Let me show you how it's done~” Nefer added while Susie had her axe, Kris their sword and Ralsei their...scarf? She was never quite clear on how he was supposed to fight with that. Then again, this was mostly for defense as no member of the Fun Gang wanted to be responsible for anyone's demise. There was always a way to pacify someone. Always.
“Okay group...he's a cat, so maybe something with water? I'm sure he's kind of a pushover and...” Susie began to say, speaking strategy and yet she glanced at both Ralsei and Kris, only to see that they were dancing on the spot. Wiggly arms and waist for Kris, as if they were some kind of inflatable tube man some cheap shops put out for advertisement. Ralsei, meanwhile, just kept on spinning on one foot as his eyes were spiralling out of control. Neither talked back, nor even noticed that Susie was staring wide-eyed at their actions. Yet what was easy to witness was that they were near-glued to Nefer's dancing form. “What are you two doing!?”
“Nyahahaha, keep looking. Keep Looking!~” Nefer said, self-satisfied as Susie could see indeed that some kind of swirly aura emanated from the cat boy. Something about his belly dance had charmed and mesmerized them, making both Ralsei and Kris entirely useless. There were even little hearts forming in their irises now, completely prey to this stupid sexy Nefer. “What are you going to do now? Try and fight me?”
“Well, yeah!” Susie responded as stopping that dance would more than probably snap them out of it. Opting for a Rude Buster, she swung her axe in order to send energy towards their opponent, only for Nefer to twirl and spin on one foot to dodge the attack with grace and flawless momentum. He even made it part of his routine as nobody else had ever dealt with that attack like that before. “God dammit! Stay still!”
“Nope. Tell you what...if you beat me in a dance-off...I'll leave your friends alone~” Nefer retaliated, toying with Susie as he smiled with a certain smug self-satisfaction that made Susie want to slap him...yet he had just shown how little that would help. They had gotten into stranger kind of fights before, like with a giant arcade and a big-ass robot...so a baladi battle might as well happen now.
“Okay, fine! But I'll rip you a new one,” Susie said as she ACTed on the spot, twirling in order to sport her purple and black bedlah. The sash, the lycra top, the black long-winded sirwal pants, the hairband...it still wasn't quite her and yet she did grow more comfortable with such getup. She pointed at Nefer, trying to look like a belly dancer as she cocked one hip all the while. “Prepare to get belly danced, loser!”
“Nyahaha...try me!” Nefer responded as he went on to go for figure-eights, vaulting backwards and then forward in order to give off an effect for slight flutters and rolls upon his stomach. It was intricate, yet he made it look easy as his own tail swished back and forth behind him, only adding to his whole flair. “Let's see you try to top that!”
“Oh yeah? I can do that in my sleep. Watch this!” Susie replied as she did glance at both Ralsei and Kris, the latter being their own self as somehow, somewhat...they found a way to eat moss even under such circumstances. The evidence was near their bottom lip, yet Susie could not focus on that as she went on to spin her hips in circle, moving one leg forward for a better weight distribution. This allowed her to go wider and even faster, yet she then switched both leg with one step forward but also changed the direction of her spin. “Bet you're scared now!”
“Not bad...but can you actually follow up on this?~” Nefer retaliated not just verbally but with maneuvers that were indeed a touch more complex. Arms rising, he stood on the tip of his toes as his fingers seemed to almost-carress his own skin and vestment in their slow ascent. All the meanwhile did he rotate in place while pushing one hip forward, then the other in a horizontal piston motion. A demonstration of balance and isolation, impressive, yet Susie could not stop and be astonished.
“Big deal! Can you even do that?” Susie challenged him as she went on to move her torso up, employing her upper back while her lower back bent slightly. She vaulted in such a way as to really stretch her belly taut, going for very slow undulations while waving her arms up and down, her wrists following suit with up and down at a slow pace. It was tenuous to retain such a stance, but she did need to give it her all if only to shut down that Kitten Lord or whatever the heck he was supposed to be.
“Well well...try to keep up with this!” Nefer said as he began to shimmy, going at an impossibly fast pace as his hips seemed devoid of bone, mere flesh and muscles shaking while going up and down. The worst, or best depending on the point of view, was that his upper body did not react, pure isolation as nary a tremble nor a shake made him budge his upper abdomen as he went as far as to cross his arms just below his chest for emphasis.
“Piece of cake!” Susie boasted as she went on to try and move her knees forward and then snap them back in place with extreme speed. She did go forth to create shimmies, though they were weak and certainly not as expressive as Nefer's. She was losing ground here, both Ralsei and Kris counting on her and this stupid shimmy business was ruining everything.
“You need to be less tense. Trying to go too fast will inevitably stress you and turn your shimmies rigid,” Nefer responded, his tone much less filled with snark than prior as he slowed down his own motions in order to showcase what he meant. “If you're starting, it's better to go with slower and more expressive ones. You'll get the hang of it with diligence and practice.”
“Oh, thanks,” Susie responded as indeed her entire body had been as if made of stone while she tried to mimic him. She did not take the time for full knee and thigh motions, resulting in poor movements and stiffness. It wasn't fast, but it was certainly better than what she did prior. “Wait a second...why are you even helping me?”
“Because your shimmies are terrible, girl. That's what I wanted to fix,” Nefer responded, his own dance ceasing as both Ralsei and Kris were still out of it, yet starting to act less awkward in a slow but steady fashion. “I saw you on Tenna's show as I felt you needed help, so here I am.”
“Why the hell did you even go that far? Couldn't you just tell me like a normal person!?” Susie said, lifting an eyebrow, exasperated as this kitten boy had done all of this for...for a silly reason as that?
“Heh, I figured you were someone who performed better under pressure...so I gave you some warm-up, made you in a competitive mood and then voila!” Nefer said, going back on his carpet, partaking of his hookah again as Susie was dumbfounded, completely out of it as she did not know whether to thank or slap that absolute buffoon. “I mean, weren't you curious as to why you weren't hypnotized like your friends? Selective hypnosis! And now you know how to improve with your shimmies. You're welcome.”
“What the f-”
Yet before Susie could rant and vent did Nefer snap his fingers, making the corridor vanish with blinding light as the Fun Gang were all sitting down on the couch in the green room. Stupefied, Susie blinked a few times in order to process not only her surroundings but the events of the past few moments. Clad once again in her more heroic attire was she sitting beside Kris and Ralsei who had gotten back to their own senses.
“Uh? I...I must have dozed off. That TV show must have exhausted me more than I remember...” Ralsei said, already rationalising the circumstances from prior. It was obvious that neither he nor Kris recalled Nefer, the corridor, the door...anything. “Oh hey look Susie...I completed the first level. Bad...Bum, right?”
“...it's bad ASS, Ralsei...but yeah, you did good.”
There was no sense in telling them any of this, no harm being actually done and she did not want to claim that some minor god of kittens elaborated a big scenario just to correct her shimmies. It was too surreal, too out-there, too unbelievable that even she could scarcely believe it.
Which is exactly why that lesson would stick in her head in the first place.
