You know... there was a rapist in our area... don't ask me how I know this, but his brother's found out and beat him till he was a cripple. Mad it so he could never hurt anyone again, because he was their brother, and their responsibility.

I am not sure, but I figured the reason for Regner(sorry for spelling) killed Rains mother was because of his jealousy to his brother, which spawn from his early childhood. Killer he may be, he just knew what right tools to use, which maybe was the only thing he saw himself differenate from his brother. Maybe, he was even proud of it.
