After a shopping trip the previous summer and some introspection that followed, Brooke Frost realizes that she's trans in January. She aimed to be out to at least Lucy before the end of the academic year as they didn't share classes. Brooke had done a little prep for the event, which shocked Lucy. “I-I didn’t recognize the colours back then, but I do now. I…” She wipes a tear away from under her glasses, unintentionally smudging them. “Lucy, I…” “C’mon Frost! You can’t stop now!” “I’m trans.” Brooke tears up more, waiting for Lucy’s reaction, hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.
Lucy gives Brooke a hug, "I know. I knew the second on saw that smile on your face last summer." She smiles.
"Does that--"
"Wouldn't dream of it. You're my partner and I love you for who you are, not what you are."
Brooke visibly relaxes, most of the weight off her shoulders.
"Have you decided on a name?" Lucy asks
"I have. Call me Brooklyn" Brooke smiles, wiping a few more tears for her eyes after taking off her glasses.The final piece of the Brooke Frost (youth) part of the timeline! This is directly tied to this piece I wrote last year.
