Petre Lore
When he was alive, Petre was a warm and caring person. He loved to take care of those dear to him and if there was anything he could to help them out of a bad situation he would do it. One night, a friend asked him to come over to help prepare for an oncoming storm. Of course Petre agreed and headed out. As he was driving, the storm clouds made their entrance and the air felt strange. He felt his fur stand on end and just as he was about to shrug it off as simple static, a bolt of lightning struck the car, ending his life. His spirit however was unable to pass on, consumed with concern and guilt for leaving his loved ones so carelessly. He tried to reveal himself them but they reacted only with horror at seeing his ghastly visage that showed the path of deadly electricity up his spine. Now he simply watches, trying his best to keep them from harms way, though most times there's simply nothing he can do. Like most specters, his emotions can quickly become violent, causing electrical devices to fail, power surges and dangerous sparks. If ever you feel a buzz in the air and your hair stands on end but there's not a cloud in the night sky, Petre might be near.
Concept notes: I love to give characters simple names for convoluted reasons, as well as plant related names. I chose Petre because of Quercus petraea, the sessile oak. I was thinking about the scene in Frankenstein where he sees the oak tree struck by lighting. I thought that the color palette would be very cool for an electrical theme and that would also highlight the electrical nature of the nerve fiber pattern on the back.
