Henlo!!!
This update has been a long time coming – when I first had started I had no idea it was going to be an uphill battle to get it done haha. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to draw for each panel, though I did have the speech bubbles written out prior as I’m trying to plan out more than just going willy nilly in making it.
The main issue faced in creating this panel was anytime I had some time to work on the drawing throughout the 2 weeks it took me to make (up until recently where I had a whole day) – it was only for 15-30 minute chunks at a time rather than a few hours. This is a problem for me because I need a good amount of time to focus when it comes to things that take brain power haha. Like say I need to draw a character in a given panel doing a specific thing – this obviously is gonna need some planning, time to draw out, care to make sure the sketch is done correctly, etc… I cannot jump in for 15 minutes and even begin to work on the art as this is not enough time for me to properly mentally ready myself to start the character sketch with regards to planning and execution. I am unable to just jump in for a tiny amount and work on the character and wander off, then rinse and repeat for many intervals. It has to be one long continuous period of time. This goes for anything for me, even reading books. I can’t read one page and happily close it, heck no. I need to be able to read a few and be given more time to digest what I just read in order to be content with my reading sessions lol.
Another thing was motivation, hard to come by recently haha. I made a journal about it recently, but I had gotten sick pretty recently and it of course happened the weekend I intended to get this drawing done. This threw me for a loop because when I finally had gotten better enough to work on it – I was still mad from my sickness preventing me from finishing it earlier and it made finishing it more difficult. I did learn patience and to be more calm when setback come about, yet it still sucks :(
To all those who gave messages of encouragement, I am forever grateful and they helped calm me down when I was getting afraid of losing my steam for upload consistency. Thank you guys!
Regardless of the woes needed to finish this – I hope you enjoy another update!!!
The wolf dog on his mission to obtain the delectable treats made of corn tortillas, carne asada, cheese, sour cream, and enough lettuce to give him his needed water content for the day encounters a roadblock – small talk! Well not really, as intimidating as he can appear to be this Calupoh is MADE for conversations. He loves to converse to people and be as friendly as can be, it’s in his genes to be buddy buddy with humans, he is part dog after all. He never really keeps to himself when out and about, engaging in banter with anyone he comes across because he genuinely enjoys the company of those he meets throughout the day. This turns a simple trip to the store into a lengthy one if you bring him along, he’ll make new friends by standing in line at a self checkout and making a comment about an item someone’s cart and somehow be invited to family gathering XD
Sandra exclaims she would of gladly taken on the challenge of employing Polo at the fast food spot, though of course while it’s mainly a joke the employee only discount he would be bestowed with surely wouldn’t lead to any unforeseen consequences (praise Gabe Newell). Imagine the horrors a small restaurant would witness when they have to eat the costs of a family of canines using a discount at their establishment over and over and over again! The financials would not look good! Only for you to realize that said orders were not from the bundle of dogs as a whole but from ONE in the family, and not even the darn dog that you hired XD Lobo jokes the problem with this arrangement being the knowledge his son would gain for how much he buys (though I’m sure his family is WELL aware of this fact) – but we all know he would be foaming at the mouth as if he had rabies for a 10% off discount at his favorite spot haha. Plus he would become so acquainted with the menu, his canine senses would be able to pin point on whether they gave him enough cheese in a taco or if they didn’t marinate the beef for as long as they should – a true nightmare lmao.
As fun as that would be, Orio’s pups follow a tradition as old as the oldest – they all start working at Shop N Wild. A special supermarket that ONLY employs anthro critters. It’s something that came about on a whim as the kids got their first jobs and now when Sam the youngest starts to work it will be complete. Sam has an affinity for video games and pizza bagels, nothing compares in life. Being a youngin, he doesn’t only have an Xbox but of course PlayStation, Nintendo consoles, and some old plug-n-plays that only work on the TV in his room because it’s ancient enough to have the proper connections haha. Pizza bagels are… okay IMO. But to Sam? Pure gold, go ahead and try to help yourself to a box in the freezer – your hand will be bitten off.
Sandra while kinda sad she didn’t get to be the one to teach Polo the ways of having a job, says she finds it important for young person like himself to work with those who are like him. This is kinda a tough point to understand in the world that these guys live in – I’ve mentioned before but anthro animals are pretty rare. And because some parts of the world have to revolve around their existence, the current mainly human infrastructure being forced to accommodate them is a source of pain to some people. It’s not that they are outright hated or ushered out of communities, but because they are so radically different to humans they are treated as such. You stand out in a crowd of people, people look at you funny, want to touch your ears and your fur, ask you weird questions that relate to your feral animal counterpart (they exist here too!), they expect you in a way to “perform” for them and act like an animal or do things with your body with the features that humans do not have. All the while you are trying to manage your day to day reality in a world that doesn’t acknowledge your existence like it should. Fangs, claws, fur, a nose that can smell the emotions on someone, it’s all very powerful to the senses and while it’s the only “world” you know it’s still difficult to navigate with. And of course some of these anthro animals have genes and a build that FORCES them to appear more animal-like and even mentally think/act, so it’s hard. You just want to be treated like any normal person, but you are a walking spectacle. A reminder that walking talking animals exist and your personal name and traits are boiled down in the eyes of many as simply “novel”.
Then there are people who do have a disdain for anthros, who despise them and wonder why they have to deal with say a feline co-worker who can’t grip things like an important report properly at times, claws important items that must be replaced at their desk, smells of animal musk when they walk by, makes noises that bother you, and shed fur that gets into your cubicle etc… While not that common, these types of people prefer to express their frustrations in ways that avoid confrontation so as to not let on to others that they feel this way. It’s sad really, and the comments they make or ways they treat their fellow dog, cat, horse, or whoever can be real hateful and piercing.
Public school can be daunting for anthros as school in of itself is a place where fitting in and “being cool” reigns supreme over logic, empathy, and understanding. Polo and Sam are the only 2 in the family still going, and they do have a lot of fun though! Of course there are still some irritating “meanie heads” as Sam likes to call them. Bitting was a PROBLEM back in Elementary days not with Sam but Polo. Now that was a time where the office had Lola on speed dial XD
Thankfully, the town in which Loborio and his family live among other anthro folk is built specifically for them!
Foxworth shall be elaborated on in due time, but context clues point it to being a town that houses mainly humans but also many a talking animals! It’s well known in the state and there are others like it in the country. Many kinds of people live there including anthros, so while it’s not perfect it serves as a great place for those like Lobo and his family to live there peacefully and not feel like they are the odd bunch in a place of only humans. Loborio and Lola moved to Foxworth some time ago, I mean look at the lack of grey on Orio XD
All the way from Ventura California! In the middle of summer, no A/C, bruh who’s idea was that??? Loborio being more canine like does NOT have as many sweat glands as Lola does, so panting is the number one way to cool off. Lola while still a dog, her physiology is more human like so she isn’t super toasty and can handle the heat better than her husband. She does have shorter fur so that help a ton too! She uses another weapon at their disposal to keep the wolf dog cool, simply drenching him in bottles of water as he takes point in making sure he stays in between the lines on the road. Why isn’t the Brazilian Terrier driving? Well she would if she could, but while she’s Loborio’s most prized beloved - the car is 2nd XD. He better save some water for his better half, little do they know their first addition to their family is traveling with them! Maybe that’s why Lola was eating a lot more than she usually does and Lobo wasn’t able to devour her leftovers at gas stations because there wasn’t any haha. Once they got to Foxworth and began to settle down, only then did they find out that parenthood was just around the corner and that their everday names would go from Lola/Lobo to Mom/Dad soon XD
At least they looked cool in Lobo’s old Chevelle driving down interstates, now that was a nice ride! I wonder what happened to it…
I want you to guess what state they moved to based on the background, I’m sure it will be super difficult to guess haha.
After reminiscing about the past, Sandra lets him know that he found the perfect dog to marry! That, and of course Foxworth being meant for anthros does indeed of course have peeps who are more than simply fascinated with them but want to hold hands and sing karaoke together at bars and cuddle late at night among others XD
Orio understands this fully well, making it known to Sandra that any sly advancements made towards him shall be blocked by the appearance of his precious wedding band… oh wait he doesn’t have it on. Hopefully he has a good reason, otherwise his wife is gonna think their date nights aren’t as important to him anymore :O Of course Sandra isn’t trying anything and he knows it, but jokes aside he has had his fair share of humans expressing their love for him back in his Ventura days. None compare to his current sweetheart, plus she gives the best pets and neck scratches he could ever ask for XD
I hope you like this update, I had a ton of fun making it and writing out the description! The story is finally going and I’m so excited for the next panels! I love love love drawing doggos and stories with doggos so be prepared to get bombarded in the next few weeks :D
I am going to upload some gift art next before any panel updates too as they have been put off for far too long, so stay tuned for that!
I appreciate all you guys and your support, please have a wonderful day and if you are struggling with anything know that such anxiety too shall pass and be replaced with determination and goodness :D
Have an amazing day, and stay safe! *WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF*

Aww thank you, I try my best with the writing skills I have at my disposal and am working on bettering them in time! This story has been on my mind for years, it's due time to be shown to others in comic format rather than only existing in my brain haha. The world I'm trying to craft is a big one relating to anthros and their existence in a human world so get ready!
It is up north you are corrent on that front! And super duper close to California too, however Foxworth is located in an area within the state that is a polar opposite to what the state is known for.
The town is north for good reason, the climate is easier on fur covered folk and heaps cooler than the arid desert that lies miles south of Foxworth. The state being AZ! You can see cacti on their road trip with the classic mountains Arizona is known for :D
It is a fictional town, though I didn't know there actually was a town named with the same name in Mississippi - cool!

One expects canines to be a bit bitey.
No worries about biting with Alex, though - he doesn't use his teeth...hell, he barely uses his claws. If someone ticks him off, they get a superheated fireball to the face...or if they REALLY pissed him off, the crotch. The latter tends to be reserved for slavers, rapists, and the like.

Especially teething puppies, and angry teething puppies XD
I'd like to imagine the fireball isn't instantly fatal, just HURTS a ton before death so those morally reprehensible "people" who deserve a shot to the crotch can at least feel their doom before dying lmao.

Hey thank you so much, I'm tons eager to show you what's in store for this family of dogs living in a world where other anthro animals exist alongside humans!
I'm super happy you find the setting interesting as I was afraid making another anthroXhuman comic among the hundreds that exist wasn't gonna be worthwhile in the eyes of others. I have a LOT planned for this world I'm making, how things work together, and the way anthros have to live in a place where the world isn't really built for them. And the family of woofers themselves as they are based on my own!

Hey - I wanna apologize for replying 4 days late! I want to let you know I LOVE comments like this, I enjoy talking about story building stuff and I appreciate your question a lot!!!
Oh and thank you, I'm happy you find the setting interesting :D I know an anthro x human story isn't unique in the slightest - but I'm hoping my take on it is something people haven't seen before!
Now onto your question....
I don't want to get too much into exact detail as I wish for story to kind of explain their origin in depth in later, but what the heck why not now?
Anthros in this universe are indeed a result of some special evolutionary reason, however given humans are the "apex" species that have progressed from living in caves to flying to the moon - other animals didn't get the chance to spread to this level of intelligence and physiology and in number as humans did.
Thus, while relatively large in number for the amount of species with anthro equivalents - not all actually have one as they just weren't able to. And because humans grew to be the dominant species, the anthros that did progress in history alongside humans are very few - they just couldn't produce and take up real estate compared to humans.
And because there's just so many species and so little territory, it's not realistic either as even in ancient times anthro species were seen as abominations so they were kinda forced to group together regardless if they didn't get along with one another. Despite some having claws, fangs, excellent hearing, swimming abilities etc, they simply could not compete with humans. Those that did stick with humans for their temperament and skillset, ended up being "domesticated" in a way as they found purpose.
Think dogs for example. The normal feral breeds were created alongside their anthro equivalents at the same time, almost like the wolves turned dogs were the ones domesticating themselves moreso than humans were - so that they could serve a specific purpose (hence dog breeds) and live with humans.
Now in modern day, the anthro species that still exist are FAR outnumbered and a majority live in towns/cities like Foxworth where a big chunk of their population are anthros. Some anthros as noted, are more "feral" and closer to their quadrepedal counterparts in genetics than others. And this poses challenges, both behavior and even legal wise...
If you wish too, feel free to note me personally if you have any more questions on the lore and such! I would go on here, but I'm already delving into spoiler territory haha.
