Amidst a planetwide curfew on the world of Begasvár in Sylvagria, a unit of Ongyarian soldiers from the Linien-Infanterie Regiment Nr. 278 patrol the dark and deserted streets. The Walzch population had been quarantined in their dwellings as an outbreak of the Setea Roșie virus which only infected the Walzch had manifested earlier this month. Gramamule corporal Natasa knew that the virus mutated the civilized and restrained bats into feral cannibalistic monsters that stalked in the dark, dragging hapless victims back to their nests. As her patrol continued deeper into a particularly decrepit district of the planet’s capital city, Natasa couldn’t shake off the feeling that they were approaching danger. When a series of blood curdling sounds emitted from the corner, the Lynxius female quickly pieced together what it was. The unit’s officer ordered his men to take up defensive positions outside the nest as Natasa began to radio command about the discovery. The hunters just became the prey tonight.
