House in the middle ground dates from the early days when this area was developed. Back then, in the 1950s and 60s, land was dirt cheap and a middle class family could easily afford to build a little beach house here. These days the land alone is worth a million dollars easy. The people that own these little cottages today are often older people who bought when they were still affordable, or family members who inherited them.
