Although Shinji has yet to produce any heirs with his wife (compared to his rival Kentaro, and all his kids), he has come to see the young lion-dog Soushi as a son. While he finds his Tokusatsu hero obsession confusing, he can at least appreciate that the boy is dedicated to his training.
