I was listening to the movie version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera last night when I got to the song 'Think of Me', set aside what I'd been working on and sketched this instead. It came pretty quickly and easily because I've been trying to draw this very idea for a couple of years. Because of that, this turned out a lot more melancholy than I had intended. The shadow figures do represent people I had known before but my feelings have changed over the years and would now be more typified by those of 'Learn to be Lonely' instead - "Life can be lived, life can be loved, alone."
