Named after the Turkish Kangal (a traditional Turkish cattle breed, a shepherd).
A herder of sheep, goats, and cows. The hair on the neck and shoulders is usually not shaved; it mats tightly, protecting these parts of the body. The shaved hair is very soft and warm. The ears and tail are docked.
