I wanted to do something with a character I haven't used much in a while, and I chose Labar. Here, he met Leather the Long-Eared Bat, and the Labrador spirit is recalling memories of their respective parents that are no longer with them. There are no real differences between the two. Well, except for two things -- for the obvious, their species; and for the fact that one of them is still alive and the other isn't. But there was a moment in time where they were ~both~ erased from this world by means of certain demise, though for two completely different and unrelated reasons*. Labar's case is kind of disturbing and has to do with self-inflicted harm because he was missing his mother, who was killed without the poor pup's knowledge of the situation. In Leather's case, though it also involves suicide, it was because he collided with an exposed electrical wire out on an open farm field near a cycling road.

*Okay, granted; when it comes down to the means of death that I described earlier -- I'll take that back; the two reasons were actually pretty alike, but how things went exactly, kind of differs between the two.
