They are so rare, 30-35 exist today. This Leopard wonders if she will ever meet a mate while the sun sets on her species, possibly forever.
This was a very ambitious piece for me, and I am not all that happy with how it turned out. This is a watercolor base, with colored pencil, white acrylic ink and black ink pen for detail. I wanted to capture a bright winter sun setting. It kinda worked. I think I made it all too pink. I am also trying to eliminate lines from my final work, but it is a hard thing because contrast and definition is so key. The anatomy is a little weird. I tried the winter coat out on this Amur leopard. They are more creamy in the winter time.
