Randi Asukail--ToVS style
A character for yet another story I want to write--this is Randi Asukail, a boy stripped of his emotions, and forced into a contract to rid his home-city of evil 'spirits'.
This was one of my darker ideas--not exactly violent, just dark. Darker than a lot of other things I've conceived.
I even have a little bio, and a sample-scene, for if I can get to writing this out.
Name: Randi Asukail
Eyes: Dark Red(Brown before the contract)
Hair: Off-White
Favorite color: Doesn't care(Blue btc)
Weapon: A Scythe forced upon him atc--it's name is Shadow Dancer.
Class: Soul Judge--a title he's none too fond of.
Age: 15
Gender: male
Birthdate: 7/7/1994
Height: 5' 4"
Blood Type: AB
Race: Human
Family: Sarin Akzuki Asukail(Mother), Roquefort Asukail(Father, dead), Eddie(The Family Cat), and Kuromou, the shadow-spirit assigned to assist Randi in his new life.
By Randi's cold, life-less responses, you would get the impression that he just doesn't care about anything--not the case for him.
The poor guy lost his emotions after accidentally activating a contract with a man that oversaw 'the lights slowly fading black'--what he meant was that people with kind hearts were somehow turning into the opposite.
Since Randi had already lost his emotions, he was the perfect candidate to be chosen as the Judge of the city. He has to follow orders like a dog, despite how he feels deep-down, but with the help of his Scythe's live-in spirit, he has a form of encouragement.
Besides his life as a Soul Judge, he also has to juggle school into his work-load, but it's worth it with the few friends he has--except one, but that's for later.
With Randi's emotions slowly fading back one after another, will he have be able to see his contract through to the end?
That, was uh...well, I doubt it's my best bio thingy. And besides that, it was supposed to be brief, and look at it. DX
Still, uh--here's the snippet I promised. I do the copyright all the time, so you know the drill--this isn't to be used without permission. ^ ^;
Another cold rainy day. Just like yesterday. Randi hated the rain with a vengeance, even though he couldn't show it--the rain always made him feel gloomy, but he wasn't sure why.
Was it because he had lost his Father on a rainy day? He could hardly remember...his Mother had always told him that the heavens were crying when it rained, but that sounded more like a religious superstition.
"You seem pretty miserable right now," Glancing behind him, Randi saw the shadows of his parter fade from the darkness as he continued, "shouldn't you be happy? We're another step closer to getting out of this stinking contract."
Randi countered as he turned to face him, "Maybe so. But I have a feeling it's going to be ages before I get back to my past self. And besides that, the wolf we freed from the Greed-soul didn't survive--what is there to truly be happy about?"
Kuromou's usually grouchy mug turned a bit more sour than usual. Randi was right. If the people they were striving to save didn't survive, not only would it be fulfilling only part of the contract, but also leaving families without a loved one.
Despite being a grouchy old spirit, he knew the importance of family.
"Look, Randi."Randi looked up from holding his head down, "Things aren't always going to run smooth as clock-work--there are going to be losses. We just have to hold our head high, and try harder next time."
Randi nodded, not giving an answer. They could try all they wanted, but unless they could figure a way to seperate the Dark-souls from individuals safely, it would only happen again.
Out of the blue, the Clock-tower's bell rang out--odd. I wasn't time for the bell to go off, it was only 6:18.
Looking out towards the Clock-tower, shadowy clouds could be seen swirling around it. That only meant that there was more work to be done.
"I guess our break is over--rain or not." Randi held his hand behind him, toward Kuromou, as his partner replied, "Guess so. Ready?"
Randi nodded, forming the Shadow Dancer. Kuromou then went into the weapon to sync with Randi.
After their procedure was complete, the youth jumped out into the rain, hopping from roof-tops, and objects heading toward his next destination.
Feel free to critique that one. It's my first time writing out a scene like that. < <;
