Chesmo has always been this dry. Azdoves evolved under these conditions so it's fine.
(Chesmo's star is a k-type, so I had to make it's orbit a bit closer to its star to make it habitable, let alone this hot. K-types are dimmer than Earth's sun. Placing Chesmo where Earth would orbit would actually freeze it several times over.)

They use "ror"
A ror is 1000 days, even though their orbit is much shorter than that.
