This drawing was actually made like a month before I posted it here and the way I usually do reflections/highlights has changed. I'm still not sure how I want to do those.
Here I use sharp highlights, while in other drawings I tried to blend the edges. Currently I'm doing sharp on the outer side, smooth on the inner (in Dan's Growth).
Which do you prefer?

I think both may have their practical use! While I do like the glossy look you did here, not every material would be as reflective! Light tends to scatter on rougher surfaces, making it blend and less sharp. Fur wouldn't be as reflective and sharp as scales I'd say!

I'd say to try and experiment around! Maybe practice different shading techniques on a simple sphere or shape; Try to have it look rough or smooth with shading! Doesn't hurt to get references either!
