Alex is generally surly, cynical, and misanthropic, but also sorta a jerk with a heart of gold. He tends to drink to deal with his pain and often gets into bar fights, but has been less self-destructive since March has been a positive influence on his life. He started transitioning around 2000 so he's dealt with years of general bigotry, but he also used to be a bully + former punk thug that mugged people, so not-so innocent exactly.
