This is the kind of nonsense I would do all day every day forever if I could. So much fun. I love that idiot in the upper left corner. I don't know what I was thinking but the stream dubbed him "Cheesecake".

You have multiple skills that allow you to perform better than the majority of artists out there, but damn that eye glow effect that you create is like no other I've ever seen anyone come close to! And your use of color to create a stunning palette of feathers here is breathtaking!
I love these so much how dare you. The zeeb headshot and the gouldian esq fullbody on the lower right make me so happy.
As an aside, how long goes it take you to do a page like this? I really love your more painterly style but I have zero patience, so I'm just wondering what I should maybe be working up to?

Thanks! :D
It's hard to say exactly how long this took because I obsessed over some while others went relatively quickly. I know the goose-elk took at least 5 hours thanks to revisions. At one point, he had navy blue wings with spotty metallic gold stripes but the maned wolf puffin kinda butted in. I want to say the two chipmunky-lookin ones probably only took an hour at most. Strawberry Cheesecake dood was at least two hours because of more obsessive revising. If I had to offer a very loose guess (emphasis on very loose), I'd say these average out to around three hours per spot.
It must also needs be remarked upon that I can, at times, be glacially slow or lightning fast depending on my mood, my level of focus, motivation, whether or not I have a plan, whether or not I'm being watched on stream, and how I'm feeling (I can get absolutely bodied by bad weather these days and migraine ghosts sneak up on me me sometimes).
I used to work almost exclusively in higher detail but frankly, I lost the energy and the patience for it so I feel you. I'd say just do you and don't worry too much about "working up to" anything. If you continue to improve (you already have a nice style with pleasing colors) you'll get faster naturally.

Thank you, that helps quite a lot! I really love more impressionistic and oil-painty esq styles, and I'm happy to hear it is roughly what I would have expected timewise. I got an ADHD diagnosis so I have resigned myself to the fact I probably shouldn't over complicate my commission art, but this account is for personal stuff, so I would definitely like to dabble in other styles. I'm still creakily getting back into everything, so everything from proportions, composition and colour application are super rusty.
