Finally found a cooperative Dragonfly. I never realized until now, just how much sharpness I lose when I scale these photos down to Internet size.

Beautiful! The dragonflies in my part of Québec are mostly black with white wing-tips, but this one looks like a living jewel.

We have a wide variety of dragonflies here.

This one had a blueish tail. It was pretty, but the light was too low and all my wide angle shots of it are too dark.

So bright, clean, colorful ... these insects (along with jewelled beetles/scarabs) always seemed artificial somehow - like shiny sportscars of the bug world.

I love dragonflyes. Most I have seen are blue, once I saw one red, Around here there are no green ones!

I've thought about that, but then I thought...what if I want to sell these as prints some day? So, I'm still on the fence on that one.
