TW: reference to suicide
A crazy fox annoys space travelers so much that they try to shut off his music. It's like the Siren's Song but instead of pretty ladies on a rock it's a fox on a planet in space.
I recorded this when I was sick so it sounds funny even to me.
Lyrics:
Here’s a little story which happened years ago
About an iron freighter passing through the Forbidden Zone
It was the quickest route for the journey to their home
There’s nothing out here other than those ancient AI drones
The radio buzzed to life and static filled the halls
The noise then shifted into an electronic song
“I can’t believe it, the legend is true,” a man gasped out in shock
“What?” someone asked and he replied “It’s the fox on the aux”
He was marooned in the year of twenty five fifty three
Left on the planet because he annoyed anyone he’d meet
He set up an antenna made from the equipment there
He shoots his songs into the galaxy for everyone to hear
The fox on the aux he plays those funny sounds
He plays them every day even when no one’s around
You can’t shut it off, it’s coming from the ground
When you hear his song, well, you’d better just turn around
Why does he do it, why does he play when there’s no one to hear
Transmitting for decades through archaic radio waves
They once went to search for him but he it’s like he wasn’t there
They looked all over above ground and deep under in caves
The noises filled the freighter and the people ran around
It got deep up inside their brains
The commander couldn’t take and he said “He must be found,
I’ll stop that fox’s radio waves!”
The fox on the aux he plays those funny sounds
He plays them every day even when no one’s around
You can’t shut it off, it’s coming from the ground
When you hear his song, well, you’d better just turn around
The captain landed there on the uncharted sphere
His song echoed all around for everyone to hear
Two crews member took of their helmets off and they promptly died
The official report, well, it said it was suicide
They found the place, a tunnel, leading into the fox’s lair
The crew headed deep inside
Two more killed themselves on the way in there
They couldn’t take the fox’s funky jive
[solo]
Just the captain was alive with the rest of his crew gone
Too late to turn back around he had just to move on
He came to a corridor and he saw him there inside
That dancing fox was cornered there was nowhere for him to hide
He reached down to his side to grab his gun but it was gone
When he looked up the fox stared back at him
The captain yelled “Just stop that noise!” and ran across the floor
The fox just laughed and flipped a switch and he danced a little more
The captain tripped and smashed his visor on a jagged rock
Then suffocated from the atmosphere
The fox dragged him off into another room
And added him to the pile of bodies there
The fox on the aux he plays those funny sounds
He plays them every day even when no one’s around
You can’t shut it off, it’s coming from the ground
When you hear his song, well, you’d better turn around
