Old character being brought back and rehashed for my new afterlife setting. Sygel was a young prince who was nowhere near next in line, the youngest of multiple brothers. But as he got older he realized how corrupt the kingdom was, and tried to rebel to change things for the better. Unfortunately he was backstabbed (fairly literally too) and found himself in the Astral Boughs with a powerful thirst for vengeance against an unfair world, and a lust for discovering his own desires after living a life that restricted him. He awoke in Carnalval as a Carnal Demon, but exploring his desires was not enough. He needed to punish the unjust. Thankfully, there is a realm for this, called Metropolis. In Metropolis, terrible horrible people who died are given free reign over a dream city that they themselves are not aware is a dreamstate. These are the badguys who prove how bad they are when given no limits, and they are assessed for heroes to enter the dream city and 'bring them to justice' by any means. This is meant to subconsciously plant the memories of punishment in the badguy's waking minds, which gradually makes them more and more uncomfortable doing bad things. Sygel decided to take a mission as a hero, but quickly learned he enjoyed the violence and the chaos, and since other residents of the Astral Bows can watch the dream cities for entertainment, Sygel has become quite the controversial anti-hero. Because of his reputation he tends to be given the worst of the worst to punish.

Not everyone heals when they get to the Astral Boughs, some need to get to their darkest point before they can finally recover.
