The Ghost of Bambi's Mother
For my first image here, I thought of uploading some existing images I uploaded in other platforms like DeviantART, Bluesky, and X.
What you're seeing here is an illustration for one of my upcoming books based on "Bambi: Life in the Woods" by Felix Salten, which inspired Disney's movie in 1942.
I intended to give it a supernatural twist to the story as well as giving these character anthropomorphic abilities.
This part focuses on the very moment the ghost of Bambi’s mother appeared in Bambi’s bedroom. Bambi, for the most part, never believed in ghosts, but as soon as his mother came through the window, he was in utter disbelief (and obviously fear). The mother assures him not to be afraid of her as she’s been watching him grow all these years with Mrs. Nettla as his new guardian.
I really hope to get around and make this into an actual thing. I really love the way this version of Bambi is going.
And if you’re interested in reading the original (expect some disturbing moments), here’s a link to the book on Project Gutenberg: https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/63849
And there’s even a 1928 edition of Bambi in English, translated by Whittaker Chambers (1901 – 1961): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/72577
