"I'm glad you're okay"

Most of the time, Panda sees Ugly Cat as evil and abusive father figure. But despite the harsh training, coercing, and isolation, Ugly Cat also shows that he does care for his boy. For example, during a mission when they got out of a tight situation that almost endangered their lives, Ugly Cat went and hugged Panda tightly, very glad that he was safe, and then proceeded to be good to him for the rest of the day. Moments like this gave Panda mixed feelings.

Ever since Panda's father passed away, his mother never paid him any attention, let alone hugged and comforted him. This kind of fatherly affection from Ugly Cat is what Panda has always craved, but at what cost?

Admittedly, Panda does like it whenever Ugly Cat is being nice to him. It's as if, somewhere deep down, there still exists Daniel who makes Panda feel the same warmth he felt as a child... or maybe it's just Stockholm syndrome kicking in. Nevertheless, he enjoys the moments of respite while they last.
