ZHOWL tah VI or JOL tah Vi is how you pronounce his name. Those close to him call him Joly. I am not in that inner circle, however, I get special creator's rights... I can call him what I want c: His name is made up, however I wanted to character with "Joly" for a nickname. Joly is an actual name, though it is a girl's name that means "beautiful" or "pretty". I do not know if he knows the true meaning of his nickname >:
This is the "best friend" mentioned in Xhimenes's reference. Joltaivi has a subdued aggression about him. As long as no one is in the way of what he wants, he won't hurt anyone. That, and, mistreat him. May the good Lord help anyone who so much as steps on his foot... or ignore him. Joly is a firm believer in disproportionate retribution.
This "fox" is a master manipulator, and a suave valet with sociopathic tendencies. Joly is also a profiteer of the Vristwood upper class and the gutters. He's known to set houses on fire and have his gryphon associate/pet put it out... for a good price, of course. Vristwood had a corrupt government during the 19th Century (actually it's lightened up since the 1500s, that's when the country was at it's worse), and Joly is one to take full advantage.
Despite being a criminal, his best friend is a Police Inspector, and no, Xhimenes isn't oblivious to what his friend is doing. He's fully aware that Joly is taking part in such activities as arson, theft, murder and many more unlawful acts. Joly isn't even paying Xhimenes to look the other way. The Inspector isn't gaining anything from his friend actually. These two have a twisted friendship, even they don't fully understand it.
...and he's Waltz's valet. His parents are owners of a Wharf/Inn, and have a strange past of their own. Joly has stolen from them on more than one occasion. After being scarred up from war, his father isn't too keen on chasing his son down. His mother on the other hand will give him a critical beat down if she catches him.
** I mean long fur as in Marcello, note that Marcello is floofy and welcoming. Also I changed Joly's forehead marking a bit in this.
Lastly, on a random note, he sounds like Michael-Leon Wooley in my head XD
WALL OF TEXT... and I didn't reveal that much about the character. I'm not one for the "mysterious" characters, though. Never have been, either. If anyone wanted to know something about this even tempered and sincere creature, they can just ask, lol
I figured I might as well load this since I have the head shot up, too.

I'm a bit tired and out of it, so correct me if I read this wrong. But he has a gryphon as a pet? So that means, you're going to draw some gryphons!? I'd totally love to see them in your style, I love those mythological creatures ;u; <3. But again I don't know if I read that completely correct, I'm sleepy so I can misread anything. Cool character though, I love his nickname, I'm gonna call him Joly even though I'm not close to him, HE'S GONNA HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT ANYWAYS. I love the fact he doesn't even know what his nickname truly means...sounds like something I would do. I'd be all 'just call me this okay guise!' and it could mean like...'poop' or something but I wouldn't caaare or even know. Hahaha...I make myself sound so smart! Joltaivi is a neat name too, you're good with coming up with fake names... I'm gonna come to you everytime I need help with a name from now on~ Yeaaahhh.
Yes! You read that right! His name is Dyisotoe, and he's a nervous wreck... and was unfortunate enough to be raised by Joly XD
And, daw! Thanks! Gryphons are my favorite mythical animal, they're just so regal... so I made a character completely opposite of that, lol. I have no idea how he turned out that way, but as I wrote about him, he turned into this nervous wreck.
and LOL, Joly is such a adorable name! I'm glad you like his full name, too! I'm always iffy on my made up names, so it's nice to know some one else likes his name as well c: I got it from Les Miserables, the Joly in that book is a crazy hypochondriac though XD
Thanks for the comment over all, though! It means a lot coming from you! =]

Oh my gosh~ A anxious gryphon!? Couldn't be any more perfect too me. Since, gryphons are usually all BUFF and BOLD and MANLY. or...ya know, strong. I like nervous wreck characters though, makes me feel like we have so much in common~*~*<3. Can't wait to see him though, if you ever post him, I bet he's gonna be amazing. Gryphons are my favorites too, that and unicorns and dragons...fuh. They're all my favorite. * u *
I don't disagree with that, I think it's rather adorbs myself. Yes, I love your fake made up names that should totally be real names just because they are so creative that they need some spot light too. (:
You're welcome Mir!
