Description:
Trench is a Sea Wing of average size, standing around 18 feet tall when on all fours. His body is slender and toned thanks to the constant travel he does. He has four dark black horns on the top of his head just above his ears. Each one points backwards at an aerodynamic angle. His ears are significantly longer than other Sea Wings, and come to a sharp point at their tips.
His scales are a dark navy blue, with a row of bioluminescent silver swirls running along his length. His underbelly is a stark white, that shimmers with a faintly opalescent sheen. The webbing of his wings and frills are white on the bottom matching his underbelly, but navy blue on the top matching his other scales.
The flesh of his tongue and other internal parts are a dark grayish black. His eyes are an orange/yellow jasper color, with catlike black slits for pupils.
Because of his poor eyesight, Trench wears a pair of glass lenses affixed over his eyes with skin tight leather straps affixing them to his face.
He always carries around a leather knapsack full of scrolls, maps, and notes on scavenger lifestyle.

Background:
Orphaned during the War of Succession before he had even hatched, Trench has been forced to fend for himself his entire life. A task that was incredibly difficult due to him being nearly blind. He couldn’t do most tasks the other Sea Wings could do, and fighting in the war was out of the question. The only thing he was good at was reading and writing. For this reason he was relocated to serving as a custodian of one of the above water Sea Wing libraries. Scroll keeping and transcribing was his primary job, and he quite enjoyed it. Oftentimes he would stay in the library after hours, reading old scrolls in the moonlight.
Around the time he turned 10 years old a regiment of Sky Wings attacked the district his library was in. As fire rained from the sky, Trench hid within the library being totally inept at fighting. At one point flames shattered and melted one of the nearby windows, showering him in glass. Trench was unharmed, but he did find something interesting. One of the pieces of glass had melted into a warped sphere. When he looked through it he noticed that distant objects were magnified. This incident led him to creating his first pair of seeing goggles.
