As a Chamber Observer, much of my time is spent in spent in a humanoid form rather than my true draconic one. Most times I prefer to disguise myself a Drow native to Xen'Drik while other times a kobold suffices- Yes, a kobold. For the love of Aasterinian it's an obvious choice to seem meek and unassuming, why would anyone suspect it to actually be a dragon? Regardless, there are also times when something slightly less subtle while still keeping a smaller profile is required. Most ruins or alleyways aren't built with dragons in mind after all! In these situations the form of a half-dragon is preferred for it provides some of the strengths and protections of the true form (as well as part of our good looks) compared to something more mundane. While half-dragons are not the most common beings out there for their creation is somewhat frowned upon by those of Argonessen, they are not entirely unheard of and are frequently mistaken for lizardfolk or dragonborn by the mortal races despite the obvious differences between us. Do note however that not all dragons are capable of assuming it, just as how not every Chromatic alongside Coppers and Brasses are able to take on a humanoid guise. It is not something innate but rather a thing that requires the knowledge of and proper training to do so. All in all it is a fine form to wear once one is practiced in taking it, even if it may raise some eyebrows in some places.
Naturally I didn't want to limit myself to just a big dragon for art so there's also this anthro version of the character along with some ✨lore✨ to go along with it. Plus I get to have a cool outfit which is always a plus.
This piece was done a little while back by evening_dragon on twitter or postludedragon.bsky.social on bluesky. They're really nice to work with and also do some more realistic/historically accurate medieval outfits so go check them out!
