Burnewt, the eft pokemon
Burnewt is a small fire-type pokemon often found all over the Ronto region. After they hatch these small pokemon travel as far as they can from their birthplace in order to avoid competition - as far as 10 km from their original home. When travelling by night they can strike their tails on the ground to ignite them so they have a light to see by. The coloured dots on their backs change in accordance with their mood - green is happy, yellow is cautious, red is angry or scared. Watch out when their dots turn red because they can let off a burst of flame! Burnewt evolves into smoldrmandr at level 16.
Smoldrmandr, the salamander pokemon
Smoldrmandr is a medium-sized fire-type pokemon from the Ronto region. They are often encountered on or near roads, mainly because this is where they are most visible - smoldrmandrs in the wild are difficult to spot and spend a lot of time sleeping in the leaf litter to conserve energy. The bright markings and reflective dots on their sides are an adaptation to this new environment. The fire that burns inside them emits smoke constantly, and its is channeled out the tail, which they try to point away from their trainer if they can help it. Smoldrmandr evolves into roadrake at level 35.
Roadrake, the salamander pokemon
Roadrake is a large fire and dragon-type pokemon from the Ronto region. These nocturnal pokemon race up and down highways and rural roads when no one is around - if you see lights from headlamps but don't hear any cars, it's probably a roadrake on a midnight run. They can make a blinding flash from their tails to stun prey and then quickly incinerate them, and also use their glowing tail to attract bug-type pokemon like venonat and mosquitch for a quick snack. The "smoke" from its horns is little more than water vapour, its internal fire now burns so hot and clean that it isn't hazardous at all, aside from the temperature.
