Jollibee tastes so gross I don't know how you Jollibee munchers even handle the taste bro. No hate to Filipinos, I love them but this cannot be your national pride. Tell me some good Filipino foods please so it's not the only thing I think of when it comes to food from the culture. Actually, can this just be a cultural exchange for food? I'm trying to cook more and I would love some cultural recommendations for dishes, I think other people will also be interested in hearing unique cultural food as well. When I mean cultural food I don't mean "I'm Italian and I eat spaghetti!" I want some real cultural acquired taste kind of stuff. Like shark fin soup.

Here, I'll start. I'm half-Japanese and I grew up eating natto. Everyday since I was a kid, I have been eating natto. What is natto you may ask? It is fermented soybean. Basically soybeans that were intentionally made to spoil. It's slimy and it has a really stong smell. It sticks to literally every surface it comes into contact with. Every time I ate natto my white and pasty dad always complained about how horrible it smelled and to not eat it around him. I don't like eating plain right rice and if I don't have any side dishes, then I usually eat it with natto.
