I'm sure you were expecting something epic and grand for the last Sneltober pic, but instead you have me. Snelly. It's in the name of the month, after all.
I had wanted to do something big and special for the grand finale, but as I thought about it, I realized the most special thing I could do was draw something purely for myself this time. No towering orbs, no wobbling fatties, just an expression of my own goober mollusk self. Call it a disappointment if you want, but I feel like giving myself a breather for Halloween. Consider this the denouement of the Sneltober series.
I have a lot of scattered thoughts about this whole challenge. Am I glad I did it? Certainly! Am I ever going to do a whole month-long event like this again? Probably not, haha. I turned out to be too stubborn to give up partway through or give myself a proper day off. I think the stamina training was nice, but having basically no days to rest, on top of forcing myself to churn something out no matter how creative I was feeling on a given day, certainly wore me down at times. There are some days where I think it's a bit obvious that I was running out of steam, but I don't want to let the perfectionist voice in my head beat me up over that.
Overall I think I made some good doodles this month. There are a few I might clean up and fully render once I'm in the right space to do so. I'm honestly curious to see which ones were the favorites on the audience's end; it's not just to boost my ego, I swear! I do enjoy reading most of the comments that I get on my stuff, and I would have been inclined to respond to more of them if I had the energy to spare.
I'm not sure where my art will take me after all is said and done. A big part of me wants to focus on building lore and ongoing narratives, but it's so easy to get distracted by the kink flavor of the week and forget all about those higher-commitment things. And I know most people who follow me don't care about much beyond the round animals. But I'm a story-crafter by nature, so forgive me for trying to scrape deeper meaning out of those same animals and their sphere-shaped escapades.
My last thought for now is in regards to the nature of the costume I chose for Snelly. I had to think about it for a while, because snails don't exactly fit into most costumes that easily. But the reason I went with Giorno Snelly? I just thought it was funny.

My honest thoughts: while it was certainly a treat seeing you churn out a pic a day for a whole month, and saving the final day purely for your indulgence and the following release of work pressure must feel incredibly satisfying, I'll say some of the pieces were definitely less conceptually mature than others due to the factors you mention, but overall every piece from this month has a decent production quality considering the time constraints.
Please don't do it again, unless you're absolutely certain you're up to the challenge; as you mentioned, you were running out of steam without giving yourself much time to recover that spent energy. I'd be absolutely fine with you taking a rest for an extended bit after this; you well more than deserve it.
