Battle on the Halloween Night (2025 Tickletober Story 31)
Aaaand Day 31 Story is here! I actually did it! I dunno how, but I managed!
Ogerpon ends up in a ticklish trouble on Halloween night, courtesy of a mischievous friend and a jealous rival. Isn't that ironic how the stronger you are, the more you have to watch your back at all times?
The story was originally supposed to take place in Kitakami, at a Festival of Masks, exactly one year after the action of The Teal Mask DLC, and was going to involve Ogerpon visiting her old cave along with Kieran's Hydrapple, remniscing on how her masks both made her into the feared monster and protected her from persecution as one, and receiving some cheer-up tickles. I ended up not doing that in the end, as I felt Festival of Masks isn't really that much of a Halloween equivalent and I felt I won't be able to write a nice hurt/comfort story on such a short notice, so I ended up moving the action to Paldea during actual Halloween instead and reducing Ogerpon's angst to a single brief mention while making the actual tickle scene sillier and more playful.
Wow, that was a hectic month! I'm proud that I managed to get through it... but also glad it's over.
