When the gentle fairy dragon had investigated the strange crystals deep in the thicket, she hadn't been prepared for the immense heat she felt on her body as she approached, strangely enough though, it seems to only affect her green and blue parts of her body, the very same that was a result of a magical anomaly years earlier. She had pondered why the flora around seemed to not be affected by it, everything was just covered in an orange-red glow, the heat felt like it was forest fire, but there was no flames to be found. Deep in the midst of the dark, misty thicket, surrounded by brambles, was a strange looking crystal. It was glowing bright red, with what appeared to be sparks discharging it frequently. This was definitely the source of the heat she was feeling, and by the time she realized what it was, it was unfortunately too late. The unstable foul magic contained in the crystal, wherever it might have originated from, was escaping its confines, and was already drawn to her, getting absorbed by her body, corrupting it from within, brambles growing all around her, making escape impossible. All she could do, was scream, hoping someone would be able to save her

/bad lore writing, do ignore

Aaaa, this is meant as a sorta prequel piece to this older piece with the same theme, to sorta explore what the very unpleasant process of her corruption would like this.
And yea, unfortunately as you can probably notice from her experience, it's a painful process :<

I do like the concept that since she's so sensitive to magic, foul magic would feel burning to her, since it's the direct opposite of the magic she has flowing through her, so the two "clash", so to speak, causing her great discomfort, as it's essentially destroying/attacking parts of her

Aspen did an absolutely incredible job with this, it's very far from what I normally commission haha, but sometimes even I get some more serious lore type ideas, not just silly shitposts! I'm very happy with how it turned out, the setting, lighting and expression is just perfect!

I do feel very mean for putting her through this, I'll get her some wholesome doodles next to make up for it :<
