Neko, being the curious scientist he is, is trying out the magic he just got aware of in the world he's living at.
He was used to deal with mechanics and healing potions made from various herbs and plants - but then he stumbled across a book of magic on the market at the town nearby, and gave it a shot. Not expecting any positive results, actually, but it seems he just discovered an entirely new field of research to him.
Oh boi, so much to discover and look into, from now on!

Oh, he plays with unknown "magical" forces. One has to be very cautious when using them without proper apprenticeship and training. Some spells might have strange effects and could deliver unpredictable results. You never know if the magical spell book was not planted in the shop by a succubus, and he ends up summoning tentacles or some similar beings.
