Let's introduce you, Adderstar is the gray tom and Thistletail is the red queen.

Adderstar was a loner cat who came across my clan cats AU. He tries his best to fit into clan life and be a part of the community. But he's a bit on the harsher side and has trouble following orders. After enough scolding from both Ash Clan and Briar Clan, he says "fuck it!" and decides to make his own clan. A clan full of strong and cunning cats just like him! And with that thought he makes a big show about leaving, actually convincing a couple of other cats to join him in the new Marrow Clan. And thus Adder became Addertail, and now self proclaimed Adderstar of Marrow Clan.

Thistletail is a clan born cat of the original Oak Clan. A kit from the first generation of cats who moved to their territory under one clan. Once the great fire happened and split their clans apart into Ash Clan and Briar Clan, Thistletail was a full adult. She stayed with the first clan, originally Oak Clan which now has changed it's name to Ash Clan.

Thistletail has been a fine warrior. Big and strong, happy to bring back large prey, but there's something missing.... Her heart aches. She wants a mate and no one in the clans has made hers purr. But when the new cat Adder comes into the picture, Thistle is smitten. She does everything she can to talk to him, get to know everything about him. She tries her best to soothe him and make him follow the rules of the clan cats but struggles to reign in his stubborn side.

She is completely heartbroken when Adder announces he is LEAVING the Ash Clan to go try out for the other group of cats, Briar Clan. He leaves without looking back and Thistletail is depressed until the next moon when the news breaks. It seems Adder is also leaving (being kicked out) of Briar Clan and now making the rounds to clan cats and loners that there is a NEW group and he's running it!

Thistletail's heart jumps. This is it. He will need help. He might be the strongest cat in the territory, but would he know how to organize a group of cats under him? She does. She's been an excellent warrior for moons. And thus Thistletail makes a hard decision. In the middle of the night, she sneaks out and runs away to join the Marrow Clan and be with her beloved Adder.

Addering is stunned to see the red queen again in the first light of dawn, but with her affectionate greeting it really doesn't take much to convince him she's perfect to be his mate. After all, all leaders really should have a mate. Adderstar shrugs and agrees with her, if it's so important it's nice to have a cat volunteer for the job.

Thistletail doesn't seem to understand they aren't on even ground when it comes to their feelings. She believes if she loves him hard enough it will be enough for the both of them. I wonder how that will work out...
