I actually had this idea for a few years already, more or less since the Paldea games released. Ever wondered what was exactly happening behind those stone doors, where The Treasures of Ruin were trapped?
Well... this is what was happening. At least to Chien-Pao, and possibly Ting-Lu as well; not to sure whether the same containment method would also work on Chi-Yu and Wo-Chien. But still.
And don't worry too much about Chien-Pao. Sooner or later some random school kid absolutely is bound to set it free while unleashing apocalypse as part of a history assignment... some... thousands years from now? Somewhere in that ballpark.
