First light had long since come and gone by the time the sun managed to breach the canopy, peering through the foliage in streaks of pale, golden light. The sun was already nearing its zenith, it would reach its peak and late morning would fall to noon within the hour. The swiftly rising sun chased away the shadows in which the fae coyote had been quietly napping, the dappled rays feeling pleasantly warm on her fur, her coat shimmering with the twinkling of starlight where the sun touched it. She lifted her head from her paws and blinked away the sleep from her eyes, yawning even as her eyes drifted closed once more. The mass of brown and white feathers next to her began to stir, her unlikely companion roused by the warming sun as well. The bird lazily drew his head up as well, briefly opening his grey eyes before shielding them from the light once more. Or perhaps he was just not ready to leave the comfort of that cozy, secluded clearing. The fae coyote did not bother to open her eyes again. The peaceful tranquility, only disturbed by the voices of song birds and the gentle rustling of leaves, and the quiet companionship of the gryphon’s reassuring presence beside her was much too pleasant to abandon. The day would keep; the moment could be allowed to yet linger a while still.

Only a great illustrator like our friend Foxapm could create such a scenario, with two super sweet protagonists who have only been awakened by the warm rays of the sun for a few minutes. As the day continues, Fiadh and Barski will allow themselves a few more minutes, comfortably lying next to each other, not wanting to leave their comfortable improvised nest and that wonderful sense of reassuring warmth that one feels near a dear friend. Love your cozy little description/story and the incredible work by the fantastic Foxapm ☀️✨🌿💞
