So I have mentioned several times now that I really enjoy realistic looking diapers,
and while I have seen a lot of really well drawn realistic ABDL diapers, when it comes to babyfurs...
realistically drawn baby diapers are quite the rarity...
Either they're a bit too cartoonish, lack the proper anatomy, too poofy, or just look like an adult diaper shrunken down.
And to be fair, a lot of people draw in a cartoonish style, so their diapers don't have to look super accurate to how they would in real life.
Or maybe they want to, but don't have much of a reference to work with, or don't really know where to look.
There's also the fact that it can be really hard to find good images of baby diapers and their patterns, especially while they're being worn.
Even I have made several mistakes myself while trying to draw realistic baby diapers due to a lack of references.
So, as a way to show my appreciation for more realistic designs, I've decided to do a study of disposable diapers over the years!
And after watching... (I'm not kidding) over 100 diaper commercials, doing a bit of research, and taking down notes...
Here's my showcase of disposable baby diapers throughout the decades! Starting from the first disposables, to the most recent!
Starring the two younger siblings of Dino Daycare, Tommy and Grace as our diaper models!
Hopefully this can serve as a guide or reference for those who want to design realistic looking baby diapers!
Or maybe want to know how they work, and all the advancements made over the years.
This showcase is rather Pampers centric, as they were the brand with the most documentation overall.
Also, here are some examples of artists who I think do great looking realistic baby diapers:
Kircai - While more stylized and cartoony, has the right idea when it comes to anatomy and design on littles.
cargoweasel - Linework can be a bit messy, but overall captures the look and texture of realistic baby diapers incredibly well.
BobbyKitFox - a bit inconsistent at times, but when done well, looks really on point.
asdfasfasda-2 - leans a bit more into ABDL, but has done amazing looking baby diapers.
