"Who the hell do you think I am!?" - Kamina, about this artwork
Not too sure how long this took as I did it in two chunks a good half-week or so apart and as I'm still rusty, trying to incorporate both my own style and the original anime style of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was a challenge.
...so I started (and finished) watching Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann a little while ago and um, got a bit excited to say the least. I still stand by the fact that this is clearly amongst the best anime I've ever seen and mere words don't do it justice.
For the uninitiated, the aforementioned anime is essentially a compacted awesome mecha anime that defines "Beyond the impossible"...on crack.
And Kamina is the most quote-worthy, badass, hot-blooded and manly character from said anime, and likely all anime period.
"Go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb! That's the Gurren-dan way!" - Kamina, in the first episode
"Your drill is the drill that will pierce the heavens!" - Kamina, about the overuse of drills in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
"Don't believe in yourself! Believe in me! Believe in the Kamina who believes in you!" - Kamina, on building confidence for meeker main characters
"A real man never dies, even when he's killed!" - Kamina, on controversial spoilers
"GIGA...DRILL...BREEAAAAAAAKEEEEEERRRRRRR!" - Kamina, Simon, Kittan, etc, on what concentrated win looks like
"Believe in you, not in the me who believes in you; not in the you that believes in me. You should believe... believe in yourself!" - Kamina, on slowly turning a character lacking self-confidence into a badass

Cool!
I thought of watching Gurren Lagann, but when I see something like this - http://www.mistakesofyouth.com/imag.....2885473uu6.jpg - all the desire goes down the drain. You possibly don't even imagine how I hate fanservice.

Yoko is unfortunately pretty much walking fan service but overall fanservice isn't too bad. She's badass in her own right, gets good character development like everyone else and even though this anime has the two classic types of fanservice episode (namely hot springs and beach), there's actually more plot than fanservice IMO. Heck, in the beach episode Yoko is wearing *more* than usual.
The anime has its flaws and its moments early on where many people may consider to stop watching, but if you don't care too much about reason and just want some blood-pumping, motivational, Beyond the Impossible anime...well, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann comes out on top.
